House fire being blamed on lightning

HOUSTON It happened at a home on Ramblewood near Regentview during last night's storm. The blaze burned the roof and the attic. Firefighters were able to keep it from spreading any farther.

"The homeowner said he heard the lightning and he heard a crack on the roof of his house. He came outside and the roof was smoking," said Captain RJ Krotofil with the Houston Fire Department.

The home also suffered water damage. Everyone inside at the time got out unharmed.
