Father: My son was heartbroken

June 6, 2008 12:46:17 PM PDT
A hearing originally set for today for a student accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill a 15-year-old girl was reset for Monday. We did get a chance to talk to 17-year-old Thomas Ramirez's father. His son, who goes to Sam Rayburn High School, has been charged with solicitation of capital murder. The teen is accused of offering a classmate $150,000 and drugs to kill a girl.

"I know that my son is a good kid. He has a good heart," said Cesar Ramirez. "Hopefully, I'll be able to talk to him soon. I love my son. But I don't know what made him do this beside a broken heart."

A Crime Stoppers tip led to Thomas Ramirez's arrest.
