Law enforcement officers have been on the lookout drunk drivers, guns and drugs this weekend in northwest Harris County as part of a crackdown on crime.Five local agencies were part of this task force. Last night, officers focused on two specific areas. Highway 249 from I-45 to Tomball and Jones Road to I-45.

"We're targeting traffic violations and street level violations," said Captain Lanny Hitchcock of the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "And if we find someone that didn't signal a lane change or was only speeding by a few miles over, that doesn't mean we have to give them a ticket."

The officers hope their effort will make drivers more aware.

Friday night, they made 30 felony arrests and detained several people for outstanding warrants and other offenses. They also issued about 200 traffic citations.
