Improving energy efficiency in Independence Heights

HOUSTON Join Mayor Bill White on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Independence Heights Community Center, 603 East 35th Street for the Residential Energy Efficiency Program Block Party. Register for the REEP and enjoy live music, free food and drinks.

The program, known as the Residential Energy Efficiency Program (REEP), is administered by the City of Houston and is provided to you at NO COST. Your home will first be tested and evaluated to determine the most effective energy efficiency measures to install. The energy efficiency measures may include:

  • Weatherstripping exterior doors
  • Sealing
  • Caulking
  • Duct efficiency
  • Insulation
  • Water saving measures
  • Compact fluorescent lamps
The energy efficiency measures are approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and should result in lower utility bills and increased comfort to you as a homeowner.
