The Copperheads also gave up a safety, had a field goal attempt blocked, missed another FG, and allowed a touchdown due to a live ball off the net on a Boise kickoff.

The Copperheads got off to a fast start with a long strike from Rudy Carlton to Robert Gill. Gill appeared to be headed for the end zone but was stripped of the ball before he could cross the Boise goal line.

Three plays later, Schutt Offensive Player of the Game George Williams scored the first of his three TDs with a 4-yard run. The PAT was missed but Boise led 6-0.
