NFL player Kevin Everett is telling the story of his recovery from a paralyzing spinal cord injury. His injury came during a tackle last September, when he played for the Buffalo Bills. At first, doctors thought he would never walk again. After months of treatment, the Port Arthur native recovered, and he says he's not bitter that this happened to him.

"Everything happens for a reasonm that's what I believe," Everett said. "I take everything in stride -- the good with the bad. You gotta take the good with the bad."

Everett will sign copies of his book, "Standing Tall: The Kevin Everett Story," from 2 -- 4pm today at the Barnes and Noble in Town and Country Village. That's located at 12850 Memorial Drive.
