Young man accused of targeting kids

HOUSTON The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the FBI arrested Jody James Malone, Jr., 21, after an on-going investigation. They allege he sent inappropriate photographs and solicited children through MySpace.com and text messaging cell phones.

Authorities got involved after parents found inappropriate text messages on their children's cell phones. Investigators have identified at least 13 victims.

Investigators assigned to the Montgomery County Crimes Against Children Task Force, FBI, and Sheriff's Office believe that other children could have been victimized by Malone. Parents are encouraged to speak with their children.

Malone worked at a local skating rink and frequented local skate parks where children hung out. Malone was terminated after the skating rink management became aware of the investigation.

Malone faces two charges of On-Line Solicitation of a Child Under 14. Additional charges are possible.

Anyone with information should call the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Detective Office 936-760-5871 or Crime Stoppers.
