New information in case of home alone kids

HOUSTON We told you on Thursday how investigators found the eight kids ranging in age from one to 15 fending for themselves in a home in northwest Harris County while their mother left to Nigeria to marry a man she met over the internet. The children's grandmother tells CPS that the woman had made plans to have an aunt look after the kids, but the plans were not concrete.

For now CPS plans to recommend the children stay in foster care.

--sot CPS spokesperson Estella Olguin explained, "Until we can look into some of these relatives to see if they can be protective, to see even if they knew the kinds of conditions the children were in."

Authorities have not released the name of the woman since she has not been formally charged with a crime.
