Woman shot while walking down road

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities say a woman was wounded after someone opened fire as she walked along a northeast Harris County road.

It happened on Aldine Mail Route Road near Chrisman.

Police say someone in an SUV fired one shot and hit the woman in the upper back and neck area. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Deputies are still looking for the SUV in question.
