HOUSTON (KTRK) -- What does it take to get you across the 100 year mark?
Wilda Wilson, of Houston, has just reached that incredible milestone, and says she credits her long life to her overall perspective and attitude.
The centenarian and oldest resident at Houston's Parkway Place retirement community has overcome the loss of two husbands and a son, but says staying positive helps us all to ensure.
Wilson also says it pays to enjoy the food you like, to avoid smoking and "to realize that life doesn't always go according to plan."

In her later years, Wilson says she has found a very big list of things to keep her busy.
The avid Denver Broncos fan was delighted by her favorite team's Super Bowl win on Sunday, and still wakes up at 4:30am to read the paper and press her own laundry.
She has also found some new moves while playing Wii bowling, winning the community's coveted 'Best Centenarian Bowler' award.
Wilson observed her 100th birthday along with friends from Parkway Place, and we're very happy to celebrate this very big milestone with her.
