Whole Foods Market to reward Houston area recyclers

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Starting today through Sunday, you can get big rewards for recycling at Whole Foods Market.

The grocery store chain has teamed up with the beverage company Honest Tea for their Great Recycle campaign. You can earn rewards like iPad minis, GoPro cameras and gift cards depending on how many containers you bring in to be recycled.

  • 1-24 containers redeemed: Bracelet, Snack, Honest Tea, or lip balm
  • 25-100 containers: Reusable Bag, CD, or Sunglasses
  • 100-249 containers: T-Shirt or Hat
  • 250-499 containers: $25 Gift Card
  • 500-999 containers: Patagonia Backpack or Yoga Mat
  • 1000-1999 containers: Skateboard or Goal Zero Solar Recharging Kit
  • 2,000-3449 containers: Sole Bike or Go Pro Camera
  • 3,500+ containers: Ipad Mini

Containers accepted at the drive include empty glass, plastic, and aluminum drink containers, as well as kids drink pouches.

Today's Great Recycle location will be at the store on Woodway Drive in Houston. Friday, the Montrose location off Waugh Drive will host the drive, followed by the South Fry Road location in Katy on Saturday and the Louetta Road location in Champion Forest on Sunday. The Great Recycle drive runs from 11am until 6pm all four days.
