Rain chances drop off for the weekend but climb up next week with a tropical disturbance
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- After a couple of stormy days in Southeast Texas, rain chances are set to drop down to 20% or less for the weekend. It'll be hot both days with highs in the upper 90s. Isolated thunderstorms could pop up in the afternoon heat. Heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds over 50 mph are all possible wherever those storms form.
Rain chances will climb once again early in the work week as a tropical disturbance send high levels of moisture our way.
Should we be concerned about this tropical disturbance?
Not at this time. The low pressure disturbance will be battling wind shear and should remain disorganized. It looks to start building tropical moisture over Southeast Texas Tuesday with that tropical air lingering through at least Wednesday. This should yield scattered downpours both afternoons, and it's rain we all need.
