Scattered rain possible through Wednesday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Scattered showers and storms managed to cool a few of us off Monday afternoon. If you didn't get the rain, your heat index soared to around 105.

Rain chances increase to 40% on Tuesday as more moisture streams in. We start to dry out in the second half of the work week, but a few afternoon storms cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures will remain hot this week with highs rising up into the low to mid 90s. We will continue to heat up heading into next weekend as a heat ridge builds over us. This could allow our temperatures to rise up close to 100 degrees over the weekend.
