HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- While a passing shower or two is possible Monday morning, strong storms rill into Southeast Texas Monday afternoon and could bring heavy rains and gusty winds.
You'll want to have an umbrella with you Monday morning, but generally speaking the beginning fo the day will be drier than Monday afternoon. It'll be a cloudy and damp night with temperature staying in the low-mid 70s. Monday starts off muggy with a few showers before the front begins to move in. high temperatures Monday should reach the low-mid 80s before the front moves through. Along the front, strong storms are possible which could bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall. A severe storm or two with wind as the main threat cant be ruled out either. This front should clear form west to east by sunset Monday with conditions clearing out after that into Tuesday.
A stormy Pacific cold front will arrive on Monday, and we will have to monitor it for the possibility of severe weather. Scattered showers and thunderstorms look possible Monday morning ahead of the front, which should quickly send a line of thunderstorms through Southeast Texas Monday afternoon. These storms could bring gusty winds and severe weather, especially north and east of Houston. Locally here in Southeast Texas the gusty winds and heavy rains could slow down the afternoon and early evening commute. Currently the timing for this front to arrive in Houston is 3 p.m. And keep that in mind if you'll be traveling to Dallas for the Texans and Cowboys Monday Night Football game that you can watch right here on ABC13.
Yes, but we'll still have to wait until Wednesday before we feel any of it. The humidity will drop Tuesday behind Monday's stormy cool front. Then on Wednesday a cold breeze from Canada will arrive to bring us a string of days with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s. The air is not looking as cold as some computer models were suggesting earlier this week, but it will still deliver up some delightful fall weather for the second half of next week!
Sara has moved ashore in Central America and has weakened to a tropical depression. Eventually it's remnants should get into the Gulf of Mexico and bring heavy rain showers to Florida around midweek. Head to our daily Tropical Update page for a complete look at what we're tracking in the tropics.
