HOUSTON WEATHER: Heat advisory possible Wednesday, storms this weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- If you thought it felt hot Tuesday afternoon, just wait. The hottest weather so far this year will visit southeast Texas Wednesday and Thursday.

Triple digit heat will expand across Texas before the weekend, pushing our highs into the upper 90s Thursday. Heat index values could reach 110-degrees, putting us into a heat danger zone.

The heat will abate some this weekend as another round of storms rolls in from the north. After the weekend storms clear out, a thick cloud of dust from African's Sahara Desert will turn the sky hazy gray for a few days next week.
