HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Dangerous heat will continue through the weekend. The heat ridge responsible for the heat isn't moving for a couple of days so we expect the temperature to rise to or slightly above 100 right through the weekend. And with feels like temps peaking above the danger level of 108, the Heat Advisory has now been extended through at least 7 p.m. Saturday, and will likely continue through Sunday as well.
By early next week, rain chances will rise as a rare August cool front moves through. Scattered storms are possible beginning late Sunday afternoon as the front gets close. Strong wind gusts will be a possibility with those storms. It now looks like the front will move through the area and into the Gulf on Monday. That'll drop our humidity levels and temps a little late next week.
