Researchers say number of Typhus cases growing in Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Researchers with the University of Texas say the number of Typhus cases are growing in Galveston.



So far this year, the county has had 17 patients with the infection. In 2017 the county only had 17 patients the entire year.



The bacterial infections is known to spread by fleas and rats.



The infection can rarely become fatal, but can make you sick with pain and fever.
