Galveston Ferry reopens after suspicious package found

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- TxDOT said a suspicious package had been found on one of the boats of the Galveston-Bolivar Ferry service Thursday morning. After an investigation, ferry service operations resumed

The Galveston Ferry tweeted that the package turned out to be an unattended backpack.

Galveston police were investigating the "Stoker" vessel.

Service on all six vessels was shut down during the investigation.

The results of that investigation is unclear.
