TSA: Think twice when packing for air travelThese are just some of the items confiscated by the TSA in August

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- At Houston's Hobby Airport, like others across the country, transportation security officers warned they've seen more and more prohibited items.

They gathered Tuesday morning to ask the public to please think twice the next time they pack their bags.

TSA set up a display of items they've collected just in the month of August including firearms, replica grenades and even a stun gun. In those cases, the items were detected in security lines.

"I'm not surprised. It's a common mistake. People just forgot it was in their bag," said Jeffrey Hebert with TSA. "The worst thing we have out there right now are the firearms."

The display caught the attention of travelers like Kim Crabb. She was visiting Houston from Portland, Maine and couldn't help but wonder why some people don't double check their luggage.

"It is quite surprising considering they're grenades sitting on the table, quite large knives," said Crabb. "We went passed, took a glance over there, and were like, Oh My God ... we got to look at this."

TSA said since the start of the year, more than 1,100 pounds of prohibited items were surrendered at Hobby Airport. That number doesn't include those numbers from the big airport.
