Major closure of I-10 in downtown Houston this weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- If you have plans in or around downtown Houston, expect major delays along I-10. The entire freeway will be shut down in both directions between US-59 and I-45.

Also, several entrance and exit ramps in the area will be blocked off, including the Jensen exit ramp, the San Jacinto Exit ramp, and the Lockwood entrance ramp.

The closure goes into effect at 8 p.m. on Friday and reopens at 5 a.m. on Monday morning.

If you are traveling into downtown, consider using Memorial Drive, Allen Parkway or Washington Avenue.
