High water on all main lanes of 59 SB at Spur 527

Heavy rain tonight is causing a big problem on the Southwest Freeway. High water is reported on the southbound side of 59 at Spur 527, causing a mess on the freeway.

Other parts of the viewing area are reporting flooding as well. Inside the 610 Loop, several cars were flooded out in the city of Bellaire and West University. High water was reported in various spots around the Southwest Freeway, including Spur 527 and further south in the West Belfort area.

The National Weather Service says North Avenue in Fort Bend County is completely flooded, almost to the front door at a corner house. High water also was reported on Highway 288 near Brays Bayou, as well as around Friendswood High School.
