ROSENBERG, TX -- A wreck and HazMat spill forced the closure of all southbound lanes at Highway 36. Those lanes have reopened. However, crews remain on the scene, so use caution in the area.
The wreck happened around 9pm last evening. According to investigators, a car going southbound lost control and hit an 18-wheeler. That 18-wheeler then hit another big rig.
Diesel fuel began leaking from one of the rigs, so a HazMat team was called.
There's a creek that runs under the highway near the accident scene. Crews are working to make sure none of the fuel spills into it.
