THE WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- The Woodlands Marathon is Saturday morning, and that means big road closures and detours.
The full marathon route begins on Lake Robbins Drive near the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. It winds down Grogans Mill Road to Sawdust Road, then back west. The finish line will be back in Town Center near the starting line.
Several major roads will shut down between 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. One of the biggest closures will take place on Lake Woodlands Drive, which will be blocked off eastbound between Kuykendahl and Lake Front Circle until 10:00 a.m.
If you are planning to drive in the area, use Research Forest instead.
Marathon organizers say to expect a five-minute delay at intersections and a 10- to 15-minute travel time delay around town.
