HOUSTON (KTRK) -- All northbound lanes on the 610 West Loop at Highway 59 reopen following an accident involving a truck that left a mess on the freeway.
The 59 exit ramps were also closed due to the clean up.
Police say a freight liner filled with 1,400 gallons of hot tar got cut off by another car around 12:30 pm. The rig driver lost control and overturned, spilling the hot tar across all lanes.
All lanes were blocked for hours. It took crews a while to dump sand onto the tar to dry it up before removing it.
No word of any injuries.
