SAN LEON, TX (KTRK) -- Several people around Bayou Vista are cleaning up after a tornado blew through the area Thursday afternoon, injuring one person.
The National Weather Service has classified the twister as an EF0, the weakest type of tornado, with about 65 to 85mph winds.
Bayou Vista resident Don Sawyer watched as the twister moved through his neighborhood.
"I was inside the house. It started shaking real bad and my dog came running up scared. I looked out the porch and saw the tornado. I saw it go across the water. So I came outside and saw the damage and helped people pick stuff up," Sawyer said.
Buzz Zetka was one of those people who needed help. The high winds flattened the trailer behind his RV and he thought he might be next. Luckily, Zetka and his dog were unhurt.
The winds also tossed metal onto some power lines, but crews made quick work of restoring power. Witnesses say the twister didn't last very long.
The condition of the person injured was not released.
