Texans LB Coach Mike Vrabe hopes his stolen Super Bowl rings will be recovered

BELLAIRE, TX (KTRK) -- Texans linebacker coach Mike Vrabel's three Super Bowl rings were apparently stolen, according to Vrabel's own Twitter account.

Vrabel's wife tells Eyewitness News that someone broke into their Bellaire home while she and her husband were at their son's basketball game.

Jen Vrabel said the burglar went through the back gate and broke in through a back door. The burglar then went into the master bedroom, took her pillow case and stuffed the couple's jewelry inside of it before leaving. Among the jewelry taken was Vrabel's three Super Bowl championship rings, an AFC ring and possibly some college football rings, as well.

No one was home at the time of the incident. Jen Vrabel said she was in a rush to leave and forgot to set the alarm.

Vrabel, a former linebacker for the Patriots, tweeted this angry message Saturday morning.

"To all the Houston area pawn shops: 3 super bowl rings are headed your way. Courtesy of the ------ who smashed our back door in"

Here's what the now Texans' linebacker coach told Eyewitness News early Saturday evening.

"I appreciate you guys coming out, but it doesn't really do me any good right now to talk about it," said Coach Vrabel.

Burglaries are nothing new in this upscale Bellaire community.

We spoke with a couple of Vrabel's neighbors who said they, too, have been burglarized.
