Officials worried teens targeting, robbing other teens
Several armed suspects have been seen robbing young children as they are getting off school buses and in a public park.

HARRIS COUNTY (KTRK) -- A dangerous crime trend is targeting young kids in northwest Harris County.

Several armed suspects have been seen robbing young children as they are getting off school buses and in a public park. And now, the suspects have been caught several times on surveillance camera.

"If kids are robbing other kids, then that's scary. That's very scary, very dangerous," said Kimberly Martin.

Eyewitness News obtained video from the MUD 304 park on Wellington. The video shows three males, possibly teenagers, entering the park on February 7 and amusing a young girl before running after another girl in the park. The suspects had guns.

"After they took their cell phone they immediately left the park," said park general manager Leonard Cummings.

Cummings showed abc13 another video of a hold up on February 13. The video shows three teens walking in the park. They are seen casing the park before claiming their first victim, a father who was watching his high school-aged kids play tennis. They took his wallet, beat him up before going after his kids.

"It's teens on teens. That's what happening; teens on teens. So what happened to our moral compass? Where did that go?" said Martin.

Eyewitness News told you about even more armed robberies in that area. In the Torypines neighborhood last week, there were even scarier moments. This time, 12-year old students were robbed as they got off their school bus. The suspects took their backpacks before beating up the kids.

Investigators have not said whether or not the robberies are related, but Cummings said he believes they are all related.
