A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital for serious injuries on Friday after being hit by a METRO train in southeast Houston, according to METRO officials.
A train that may be carrying hazardous materials derailed in Palo Pinto County, Texas, on Tuesday, according to local officials.
There have been multiple incidents involving trains in recent months, and those who live near train crossings say they're growing more concerned.
Police said it's unclear how the pedestrian got onto the train tracks Tuesday morning.
Authorities said the 18-wheeler truck was towing an empty trailer but got stuck at a crossing path, which had recently been repaved, and was hit by the train.
Flames and smoke could be seen billowing out of the six-car train that was traveling from Philadelphia. No injuries have been reported.
