Houston Super Bowl Committee in San Francisco for big game
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- After Super Bowl Sunday, California will pass the torch to Texas, as the Super Bowl returns to Houston in 2017.
Led by new Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, the Houston delegation arrived Thursday in San Francisco for Super Bowl 50. They're ready to study every detail of the event so the Bayou City can be prepared come their turn.
"We will have the opportunity to showcase our city in close up and in person," Turner said. "Let me tell you, we will be ready. We want to make sure that the benefits from having the Super Bowl in Houston flows throughout the entire city."
Turner hopes to impress everyone with how Houston coordinates Super Bowl 51.
"The Super Bowl, you can't get any bigger than that, but we did in 2004, we did it well. But in 2017, we are really going to blow the roof off," Turner said.
