Woman stabbed at motel in north Houston
A woman was stabbed to death in north Houston, Marla Carter reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred at a north Houston motel.

Police were called to the Americas Best Value Inn just after 5:30am, located in the 702 block of North Sam Houston Parkway East, after a woman was found dead on the third floor.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Monica Balderas. According to authorities, Balderas and the alleged suspect Abelardo Narvaez went back to the hotel room they shared with her two sons. A fight apparently broke out between the couple and the boys separated them. The boys then told police Narvaez went to the kitchen, grabbed two knives and began to stab their mother.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Narvaez was detained at the scene.
