West Virginia's Dana Holgorsen named for UH football head coach position

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Since Major Applewhite was fired, the Houston Cougars were in the hunt for a new head football coach.

West Virginia Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgorsen has been named to replace the departed Applewhite.

Holgorsen was the University of Houston's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during the 2008 and 2009 seasons under Kevin Sumlin.
