FRIENDSWOOD, TX -- The frequent labeling of the Clear Creek football team is that the Wildcats are 90 percent high-octane offense and 10 percent everything else.
On closer inspection, that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Head coach Darrell Warden's team exploded for 20 second-quarter points, using big plays from its defense, special teams and a reinvigorated offense to open a 27-7 halftime lead en route to a 48-21 win at Henry Winston Stadium.
The convincing triumph leaves the Wildcats tied atop the District 24-6A standings with Dickinson, each with 4-0 records. Friendswood and Clear Springs are tied for third place with 3-1 marks.
