Video shows solar cyclone on sun's surface

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An amazing new video of the sun shows something like a tornado swirling on the surface.

You can see it in the lower right corner of this video from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory.

The space agency says the twister is really a gyrating mass of plasma. The solar cyclone spun for about 40 hours.

Temperatures inside the storm were about five million degrees farenheit.
