HOUSTON -- The story of Kendall Tidwell, a recent KIPP Sunnyside High School graduate who overcame some personal challenges at home to earn not one, but two trips to the White House to meet President Barack Obama.

Tidwell took part in the U.S. Dream Academy, a national after-school and mentoring program that helps at-risk youth find success. Walter Hull, Regional Program Director of the U.S. Dream Academy talks about the mission of the program.
