walmart rolls out new price match program
New Walmart program allows you to price compare from several stores right from youur smart phone.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Price matching is a great way to save, and Walmart has rolled out a new program that takes all of the work out of saving you money.

The program is called Savings Catcher and it allows you to price compare from several stores all from your smart phone.

"All you have to do is shop from the store, scan the receipt on your phone or you type in the number of the receipt and they are going to automatically price match all the stores that are in your area and give you those savings back on a Walmart gift card," said IHeartTheMart.com blogger Paul Ivanovsky.

He recommends scanning as soon as you're handed your receipt to recoup some of the money you just spent.

"You can do it when you check out, like when I check out, I get my recipet and bam, I hit it right there with my phone," Ivanovsky said.

Even if you don't have a smartphone, you can still use the program online.

"You go home and pull up Walmart.com. You go to the Savings Catcher and can type in the numbers at the bottom of the screen," Ivanovsky said.

If Savings Catcher finds a lower price advertised price, you'll get a Walmart gift card.

To enroll in Savings Catcher, you must first register and create a free account at Walmart.com. Each valid receipt from participating Walmart stores must be entered within seven days of purchase to qualify for the rebates.

Walmart will price match most grocery, consumable, and health and wellness items, making it the perfect way for consumers to ditch the grocery sales ads.
