Thousands of spiders spin massive web at Texas park

Turn away now arachnophobes, because this massive spider web will give you nightmares.

Thousands of spiders have spun a giant "communal" web at a park in Rowlett, Texas. While it's unsure how many spiders came together to create the web, but people are speculating it to be "at least thousands."

"I've never seen anything like this," park visitor Barry Clinger told ABC affiliate WFAA. "I think it's just amazing."

Many nature and spider enthusiasts turned up to the park to see the communal web-slingers in action.

"It's just so cool," Jennifer Kolmes, a graduate of the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension's Master Naturalist program, told WFAA. "I don't know, I am just a science nerd, I guess. I just love this sort of thing."

Experts believe that the large amount of flying food is what inspired the spiders to team up and build the web. Many flies and mosquitos can be seen tangled in the web's grasp. The spiders, however, are not a threat to humans.
