HUMBLE (KTRK) -- Five Summer Creek High School students face assault charges after a teenage sister and brother were beaten by classmates. According to Humble ISD, the fight took place off-campus Friday afternoon.

Haley Womack came home from school early Tuesday after her grandmother, Kathy Lauderdale, picked her up. Lauderdale says she didn't believe her granddaughter was safe at the school.

"I kept her out of school so they could round up all the kids. She let's me know today that one of the ones that was stomping her was at school," said Lauderdale.

The alleged assaults happened in front of Canyon Gate at Park Lakes subdivision. Womack, a freshman, says five fellow students from Summer Creek High School were waiting for her. They attacked her and her brother, who was also there, when she stepped off the bus.

"They kicked me in my head and then for three days straight I had a headache -- a real bad headache," said Womack.

Humble ISD police started an investigation, and that is why Womack says she was shocked to see at least one of the girls walking the halls when she finally returned to school.

"She might hurt, harm me. It may be worse," said Womack.

Humble ISD says the police investigation simply took time to complete, and at this time, all five students are charged with assault, and are no longer on campus.
