HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was honored by the NFL for his big day on Sunday in Houston's 45-21 win over Tennessee.
Fitzpatrick was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after setting career and Texans franchise highs with six touchdown passes in a game. He also had no interceptions, which makes him only one of 12 quarterbacks in NFL history to throw six touchdown passes and no interceptions in a game.
Fitzpatrick was 24 of 33 for 358 yards with a career high 147.5 passing rating. He led the Texans to a franchise best 11 third down conversions.
Fitzpatrick's favorite target Sunday was DeAndre Hopkins, who had 238 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Fitzpatrick also connected with Arian Foster, Ryan Griffin, Andre Johnson and JJ Watt for scoring strikes.
Fitzpatrick became the Texans' first AFC Offensive Player of the Week since Week 11 of 2012 and the 10th in franchise history. Fitzpatrick's award represents Houston's third conference player of the week honor this season (J.J. Watt- AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Weeks 4 and 11).
