Teen taken by LifeFlight to hospital after being bitten by rattlesnake in Brazoria Co.

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A teen was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital by LifeFlight after he was bitten by a rattlesnake along the dunes area of Surfside Beach.

Authorities say around 6:45pm, the 14-year-old boy was walking along the dunes when he was bit just under the left knee. Surfside EMS responded and treated the teen.

Brazoria County sheriff's say rattlesnakes are common in the dunes in that specific area of the beach. The snake bite happened near access three to the beach.
