HPD: One dies after alleged purse snatching suspects crash

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a robbery and deadly crash in southeast Houston.

It happened on Calhoun near Cosby before 5:30pm.

Investigators say four men stole a woman's purse and then sped off in a pickup. The vehicle hit a tree and then caught fire.

The driver died at the scene. Two passengers were taken into custody, while a third passenger ran off.
