Woman killed in double shooting in southwest Houston, officials say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman was found dead in a double shooting Sunday afternoon in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said officers were dispatched to a shooting at 9822 Fondren Road.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, the agency said, adding that first responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Authorities said officers also found a man with, what appeared to be, a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and he was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

It is unclear how the two are connected to each other.
