Willis HS student arrested day after another student brought gun to campus, authorities say
The student allegedly joked about shooting his fellow classmates, Willis ISD said in a statement.
WILLIS, Texas (KTRK) -- A Willis High School student who stated he was going to shoot his classmates on Thursday morning was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats, authorities said.
Willis ISD said in a statement that the student said he was joking, but even in jest, the statement was treated the same as an actual threat.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirmed the 15-year-old was charged with making terroristic threats on Thursday.
Just one day before, on Wednesday, a 14-year-old student was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to the Willis High School campus.

On Thursday, Willis ISD shared a statement that read in part:
"We recognize that, particularly following an incident like yesterday's, students may make comments or attempt to use humor to process what they have heard or experienced. However, there is no joking about threats of violence."
Officials with the district did not say whether the two incidents were connected.
