Suspicious driver with ammo arrested near Ken Paxton's campaign watch party, Dallas PD says

DALLAS, Texas (KTRK) -- The Dallas Police Department said it arrested a suspicious driver and found ammo in his car near Ken Paxton's campaign watch party.

According to Dallas PD, they received a call about a suspicious driver in the 3000 block of Fairmount Street around 5 p.m., adding that he reportedly entered a vehicle without a proper license plate and left the area.

Officers said they stopped the driver in a traffic stop and arrested him for traffic violations, and later found ammunition in the vehicle.

The suspect was taken to DPD's downtown headquarters, and an investigation is underway.

Editor's Note: Dallas PD previously stated that the suspect was found with firearms and ammunition. They later corrected their statement to reflect the suspect was only found with ammunition.
