HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is in custody after a chase that ended in a crash, which injured at least three Houston Police Department officers in southeast Houston, according to officials.
HPD said the crash ended at Ella and Rush Creek in the Greenspoint area late Sunday evening.
According to officials, it was believed that the suspect was involved in a robbery and had forcefully taken a car, leading responding officers to begin a pursuit. The duration of the chase is unclear.
At one point, a patrol car was rear-ended, but it wasn't clear if the suspect in the stolen car caused the crash. One of the cars caught fire, but crews put it out very quickly, HPD said.
Three officers between the two patrol cars involved were slightly injured but refused treatment, HPD said.
HPD said the man was taken into custody. Officials said there is no word yet on the charges that the suspect would face.
