HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said that a vehicle crashed into a southeast Harris County home after fleeing from deputies on Saturday.

According to the Harris County Precinct 2 Constable's Office, deputies began a traffic stop on the vehicle before it fled. Officials said the suspect vehicle later crashed into a residence near the area of Colgate Street and De Leon Street.

After the crash, the suspect reportedly ran through the house, with a woman inside the house helping deputies point in which direction the suspect went. Investigators confirmed the vehicle involved was stolen from a Mambos' restaurant parking lot near the Gulf Freeway, with the theft happening 30 minutes prior to the chase. Officials said the suspect has a history of auto theft.

The suspect was identified as Abelardo Vasquez, officials said, adding that he is charged with stealing a vehicle as well as criminal mischief.
