HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Four people were sent to the hospital following a head-on collision in east Harris County on Tuesday night, according to officials.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the two-vehicle crash happened along Sheldon Road near Business 90 just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, shutting down that portion of the road in both directions.
At the scene, HCSO Sgt. Beau Beaty said a driver in a white F-250 failed to stay in her lane before veering into oncoming traffic and hitting an F-150.
Beaty said the driver of the F-250 was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK. The F-150 driver, along with her two passengers, were also hospitalized and are expected to be OK, the sergeant added.
"As of right now, we don't expect that speed is a factor for this crash -- only failed to drive in a single lane for unknown reasons, but the crash is still under investigation," Beaty said.
He said they will also look at whether alcohol may have played a factor.
