Person killed in deadly crash in north Houston, investigation underway, according to police

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police said a person is dead after a car crash in north Houston on Wednesday.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash happened around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the 900 block of South Victory Street near Knox Street. Investigators said a white Dodge truck was traveling westbound on Victory Street when it hit a grey Infiniti sedan.

Officials said a person inside the Infiniti was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the Dodge is being checked to see if alcohol was a factor in the incident. Investigators said they are also working to determine if the Dodge was speeding.

HPD said its Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
