Man, woman dead after apparent murder-suicide in Baytown, police say

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- The Baytown Police Department says they are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left a man and a woman dead Friday afternoon.

According to Baytown PD, officers responded to a home at 2 p.m. in the 200 block of Southwood Circle. Baytown PD says that the man claimed that he had shot and killed his wife and he was contemplating suicide.

On arrival, officers found a woman believed to be in her 30s with apparent gunshot wounds near the front door. Police also found a man believed to be in his 50s inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities say both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no other individuals were involved, and no injuries were reported.

An investigation is still ongoing.
