LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- A fugitive wanted for more than a decade was arrested after a traffic stop in League City on Saturday, officials said.
The League City Police Department said that at about 10 p.m. on Hobbs Road, officers patrolling the area noticed a car with multiple equipment violations before conducting a routine traffic stop.
Officers said the man provided documents that did not match official records and learned the documents were fake.
LCPD said the driver admitted to carrying the fake identification and that he has been evading law enforcement for nearly 18 years.

The man was taken into custody without incident and later identified as 41-year-old Meltron Alberty, after using fingerprint and facial recognition, according to LCPD.
LCPD learned he had two open warrants out of Dallas County for a probation violation for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Court records show he was sentenced in 2009 to 10 years probation for sexually assaulting a relative.
Alberty also failed to register as a sex offender and comply with registration requirements. He has been listed as "absconded," according to the state registry.
He was charged with tampering with a government record, fraudulent use of identifying information, failing to comply as a sex offender, with each charge holding a $60,000 bond, and failing to identify as a fugitive, officials said.
