Man gets 50-year sentence for sexually assaulting unconscious woman, DA's office says

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman, according to Montgomery County authorities.

After a two-day trial, authorities said a Montgomery County jury found Donald Eugene Goss Jr. guilty of the July 2026 incident.

According to a release from the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, the victim came forward two years after the assault due to concerns that someone else could be harmed. Investigators said they uncovered evidence such as texts in which Goss acknowledged his actions and apologized.

During the trial, jurors were presented with surveillance videos, texts, and other evidence. After 45 minutes of deliberating, the jury returned with a guilty verdict.

Following the verdict, Goss was sentenced to 50 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
